As part of celebration marking the Gambia’s 44 independence  anniversary, some Gambian artists currently based in the United States, are gearing up for a grand independence celebration party.

The event which is scheduled to take place on Saturday 21st February 2009, is expected to attract a number of prominent Gambian DJ’s based in Seattle, notably DJ Pa Boy and MM  among others.

Organised by the Seattle-Gambian Girls, the independence special, according to Gambian Talents Website, will witness a thrilling stage performances by The Gambia’s finest stars; namely, The Gambia’s most impressive star of the moment, Singateh aka Freaky Joe; Gabriel Jobe aka Jollof Magnificent; Pa Sedat; Amie Dibba, the stunning female Gambian star from Minnesota, and Chess, the dramatic Gambian cultural singer from Seattle.
