Another Adjournment of Rambo’s Trial

Thursday, October 19, 2006
The ongoing trial of Ousman Jatta, alias Rambo, the Old Bakau ward councillor, continued yesterday before Principal Magistrate Kebba Sanyang at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

The prosecutor, Inspector Bojang of Bakau police, was absent during the proceedings of the matter. So also was the defence counsel, Lawyer Ousainou Darboe, during the hearing. Earlier on, the presiding magistrate had vowed to strike out the case if the prosecution failed to produce the accused in court at yesterday’s sitting.

Due to the absence of both parties at yesterday’s sitting, Magistrate Sanyang adjourned the case to 1st November 2006 to give time to the prosecution and defence counsels to attend court proceedings on the case.
