As part of the activity marking the first Women in Sports Festival in the Gambia, the women in Sports Committee of the Gambia National Olympic Committee (GNOC) would stage a one day Mass Sports for Women at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Mass Sports would be similar to the May Day Sports but only Women would participate in the competition.

According to the Executive Director of GNOC, George Gomez, the President of the Republic of the Gambia H.E Dr Alhagie Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh have agreed to attend the Mass Sports.

Mr Gomez revealed that the events would be very interested as women would be doing the Greasy Pole, Tug of War, Pillow Fight and legged race to name a few.

More than 13 events are on the programme namely 100 and 200 meters, Obstacle race, 400 meters walk, Pillow Fight, Tug of War, Team Manager’s Race, 3 legged Race, Musical Chair, 4X100 meters and 4X400 meters Relays.
