Football coaches seminar ends

The in-house training of trainers course for Gambian coaches ended recently at the Independence Stadium, Bakau. Organised by the Gambia Football Coaches Association, the day-long gathering brought together 16 coaches for the various divisional clubs. During the session, a thorough presentations were made on three pertinent topics, namely pre-season training, half-time talk and team building.

The coaches association also used the gathering to discuss on the possibility of enhancing the capacity of Gambian coaches, in a bid to develop and promote the game of football.

Speaking to Observer Sports, Pa Suwareh Faye, the President of the Gambia Football Coaches Association and the head coach for Africell/Sait Matty FC said in-house training was a great success where tangible proposals were made for the enhancement of Gambian coaches. Coach Faye commended Mr Abdou Salaam Jammeh and Musa Njie, CAF Education Officer and GFA Technical Committee Chairman, respectively for their meaningful contribution in the successful hosting of the course.

In conclusion, coach Faye urged all the aspiring coaches to join the national coaches association which has the ultimate aim of improving the capacity of coaches in the country.
