The Gambia Athletics Association [GAA] recently adopted their 2007 calendar of competitions in their congress held at the Independence Stadium, Friendship Hotel in Bakau.
The activities of the year 2007, which would kick off on February 18th with the primary school Athletics Championship, comprise of both local and international championships.
In the local scene the Gambia Athletics Association would be organising the primary School Championship on Independence Day in collaboration with the Gambia Primary Schools Athletics Association. The other big event in the local arena would be the annual Gamstar sponsored National Athletics Championship from the 28th to the 29th June 2007.
In the international scene the Gambia would be taking part in the Half Marathon in Dakar on March 10th 2007.
The Zone 11 Cadet Athletics Championships in Freetown, Sierra Leone from April 14th to 15th, 2007 would be the second big outing for the GAA.
The Athletes would later be warming up for the Zone 11 Solidarity Meeting to be hosted by Guinea Bissau from May 26th to 27th, 2007.
Cotonou, Benin would be the host of Gambian Athletes for the West African Senior Championship slated for June 13th to 14th, 2007 follow by the All African Games to be held in Algeria from the 16th to the 21st July.
The 2007 calendar of activities will be wrapped up by the African Junior Championship in Ouagadougou later in the year.
