The 22-man squad named by Coach Lamin Sarr, for the upcoming Zone II tournament in Guinea Bissau, last night reported to camp as the final build-up to the competition intensifies, reports reaching Observer Sports have revealed.

The Scorpions squad include players from both the defunct Under 20 and Under 17 teams. Real de Banjul’s Pa Landing Conateh; Steve Biko pair, defender Ousman Koli and forward Habib Kunta have all been included in the squad which is composed of only home-based players.

Ports Authority’s Abdourahman has also been named, while Wallidan’s George Cole is also expected to re-appear in national colours after a two-year absence from active football.

The 22 players, Observer Sports has gathered, will be further trimmed to 18, as the final selection for the eight-nation competition proper which is scheduled between November 30 to December 10, 2007 in the former Portuguese colony.
The Scorpions will battle it out in Group B, along the defending champions, Guinea Conakry, Mali and Cape Verde.
