Observer Boss Fired

Dr. Sajar Taal, Managing Director of the Daily Observer was this afternoon given his matching orders; this is the second time in less than four weeks. He was earlier fired only to be reinstated few days later. Dr Taal was head of the daily Observer for several years who took over from Momodou Sanyang. The paper has change heads several times in recent years.

 

Dr. Taal has served as Permanent Secretary at the department of state for education; he was also one time Administrative Secretary at the offices of the ruling APRC party.Taal remains lecturer at the University of the Gambia where he lectures political science.  

 

No reason is advance yet but from a reliable source that spoke to this paper and would not like to be named said his sacking is connected to mismanagement of the funds of the paper. Taal could not be reached at the time of going to press.
