Nite Life U-17 Tourney Kicks off Today

The U-17 female football tournament for schools in Banjul gets underway today in Banjul, with Garba Jahumpa Upper Basic School taking on J.C Faye at 2.30 p.m. at the Gambia Senior Secondary School grounds.

The tournament, which aims to develop female football at the grassroots level, is divided into two categories – the upper and lower categories.

In the upper category are Gambia Senior Secondary School, St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Garba Jahumpa Upper Basic School, JC Faye Memorial Upper Basic School, Muslim Senior Secondary School in the Upper category.

On the other hand, the lower category consists of Campama Lower Basic School, Muhammadan Lower Basic School, St Mary’s, St Joseph Basic Cycle and Wesley Lower Basic School.

Female referees will oversee all matches.

Each match at the lower category will kick off at 2.00pm at KG5 and at 3.00pm for the upper category at the Gambia Senior Secondary School.

The winners will receive a trophy, D5000 and a set of jerseys.
