The annual Governor’s Trophy donated by the Governor of the Central Bank is set to kick off on Saturday 15, December between Central Bank of The Gambia and Standard Chartered at the Independence Stadium.
However, the tournament which features eight banks is divided into two groups.
Central Bank is drawn alongside Standard Chartered Bank, Arab Gambia Islamic Bank and Access Bank.
Group B includes Trust Bank, Guaranty Trust Bank, International Bank for Commerce, and International Commercial Bank.
Defending Champions, FIB, will not participate in this year’s championship because according to sources the institution believes they can’t produce a team that can defend the title.
Sunday’s encounter will feature Trust Bank Limited and the second defending champions Guaranty Trust Bank, at the Independence Stadium.
The opening match will be graced by the Governor of Central Bank, Mr Bamba Saho.
All matches are scheduled to be played during weekends starting at 5pm.
