Biko, others in U-20 pledge

Steve Biko Football Club has joined several other institutions to pledge their support for the Gambia U-20 team towards the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada this summer.

Mr Kemo Ceesay, an official of the Bakau giants made a pledge of D5000 (Five thousand) as their contribution to the team at the launch of ‘Operation Canada 2007’ campaign yesterday at the Independence Stadium, Bakau. Other pledges towards the team came from Sheriff Mballow, who on behalf of the National Tourist Guides Association vow to give D5,000 (Five thousand). The National Youth Council also pledged D5, 000 (Five thousand).

Mr Muhammed Manneh, a professional photographer made a personal pledge of D5,000 (Five thousand) in addition to two photo albums to the Department of State for Youth, Sports & Religious Affairs and the Gambia Football Association. Mr Omar Sallah, Chairman, National Sports Council, Sarahule/Jahake Community were among other individuals who made substantive pledges towards the campaign.
