The long-awaited Inter-departmental football competition which is annually organised by the National Inter-departmental Association (NISA), formerly National Inter-departmental Football Association (NIFA), will kick off on Sunday, March 11, at the Independence Stadium, Bakau.

The defending champions, Gamtel FC, will lock horns with last year’s runners up, Immigration Department, in the grand opening match that will be graced by Sheikh Omar Faye, SoS for Youth, Sports & Religious Affairs, among other sports pundits.

Prior to the mouth-watering kickoff on Sunday, there will be a march-past by the participating institutions starting from the Daily Observer Junction to the Independence Stadium, where Col Lang Tombong Tamba, the Chief of Defence Staff of The Gambia Armed Forces and President of the association is expected to deliver a keynote address before the teeming crowds.
