Bakau Station Officer Testifies in Dudu Jaata’s Case

Samba Sowe, a Station Officer at the Bakau Police Station, yesterday testified before Senior Magistrate Mbackeh of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court in the Dudu Jaata case.

In his testimony, he told the court that he took over from ASP Sawaneh on 6th August 2006.

According to him, ASP Sawaneh handed over to him an iron bar that was alleged to have been used in the assault case involving the accused persons.

Then, an iron bar that the witness identified was tendered as an exhibit.

Prosecutor 870 Touray announced that he had closed his case, and the case was then adjourned until 17th April 2007 for the defence counsel to cross-examine the witness.
