CDS Tamba Calls for Unity Among Sport Journalists

The Chief of Defense Staff of the Gambia Armed Forces, Brigadier General Lang Tombong Tamba cum first vice President of the Gambia Football Association has called on the membership of the Sport Journalists Association of The Gambia to remain united in their endeavour to promote all sports in the country.

Mr Tamba made those remarks at the official opening of the Triennial congress of the Sport Journalists Association of The Gambia held at the Independence Stadium in Bakau on Saturday.

General Tamba, who has no doubt that the Association’s last three -years is a rare success story in this time.

He urged them to continue working as a team to achieve the desired success.

General Tamba remarked that in any institution there has to be a leader all cannot be leaders and urged the membership to be supportive to the current leadership noting that success cannot be achieved individually.

He gave as advice that they should be sorting out their matters professionally noting there are certain things that could be sorted out as in house issues rather than taking it to the public.

He also advised the current leader to accept criticisms and not to feel too good to be seeking advice from experienced people of the like of Pap Saine, the life Honorary president of the Association, who he described as a treasure.

“Remain United as one Family,” he concluded.
