New Jeshwang gets basketball, volleyball lawns

New Jeshwang, Unity For Kids (UFK), recently inaugurated their newly constructed basket and volleyball lawns at the Panafield in New Jeshwang, sponsored by Anneke Meijer and her husband in Holland.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Anneke Meijer commended the Community, Trainers and Coaches of UFK for accepting their offer to open the new basket and volleyball lawns in the area. She also thanked Baboucarr Cham for the construction of the lawns which started in 2000. She said this will help them to set up the unity football academy in New Jeshwang.

“Unity means together and only together we could make it through,” she mentioned. She urged the people to give them the power to grow in the advancement of the 850 kids, who joined the UFK foundation today.

Saikou Faye, Managing Director of UFK also thanked the sponsors from Holland for been so generous to the UFK by building the lawn . He pointed out that Gambian kids get several assistance from unity for kid in the areas of Sports, Education and Health .

He emphasised that in sports, Unity For Kids has also sets up Academies in The Gambia in Jeshwang, Bakoteh, Tanji and Gunjur. In these academies, he added, kids from different areas are trained to become future footballers, coaches, trainers and important people from the communities without payment.
