The Gambia National team better know as scorpions are set to face Algeria tomorrow in the second leg match of the CAN 2008 qualifiers.
The Scorpions arrived in Algiers on Thursday from Cologne, Germany, where they had a three-day training camp in under the guidance of their new German Coach Anthony Hey.
The Gambia, who beat Cape Verde 2-0 in their first outing in Banjul on September 3rd, 2006 would take on Algeria without three players from that team.
After team captain Jatto Ceesay, who sustained injury last weekend in the Cyprus League, would be joined by other players namely: Dawda Bah and Abdoulie Corr (Paco) from KVP in Finland.
According to GFA President Seedy Kinteh, Dawda Bah and Abdoulie Corr (Paco) failed to catch their connecting flight to Germany.
He added that the Town where Dawda Bah and Abdoulie Corr are playing is very far from Helsinki, the Norwegian Capital and before they arrived in Helsinki, the flight has already left.
It could be recalled that Seyfo Soley has been out of action for four weeks now for an injury.
The Gambia is currently leaders of the group 8 following their 2-0 victory over Cape Verde in their opening campaign in the 2008 qualifiers.
Algeria and Guinea Conakry drew goal less in Conakry the same week.
A victory or a draw in Algeria would consolidate Gambia’s chance of qualifying for the first time in the CAN finals.
