Methodist Preparatory and Kindergarten School last Thursday inaugurated its newly-built six classroom block in a colourful ceremony held at the school’s concourse in Banjul.
In his speech at the ceremony, Mr. Samuel Sarfo, Head Teacher of the school, revealed that the new structure was built at the tune of D2.6 million and that D2.1 million was paid from the school fund with the remaining funds generated from individuals such as Mustapha Njie of Taf Construction, Ken John and Dr. Fowlis.
He pointed out that the project was initiated by the former headmistress of the school, Mrs. Comfort Clarke, with the support from the PTA and board of governors.
The Chairperson of PTA, Mr. Willy Wright and the Chairman of Board of Directors, William Cole, thanked all those who contributed in making the school project a success it so deserved.
The ceremony was attended, among others, by the General Superintendent of the Methodist Mission, Fr. Norman Grigg.
