New health post for Santanto

Janjangbureh Area Council (JAC) on Monday September 23, handed over a cheque for sixty-nine thousand four hundred and fifty Dalasi for the completion of Santanto health post in the Upper Fulladu District, Central River Region.

Handing over the cheque, Malang Saibou Camara, Chairman of Janjangbureh Area Council (JAC), spoke at length on the importance of health, adding that the project is timely. He also noted that it’s in line with government objectives to bring health to the door steps of every Gambian.

He further stated that the significance of the project cannot be over emphasised as it will reduce infant mortality rate; and raise community awareness on health issues. He then commended the management of JAC for their hardwork and dedication.

Mamodou Gida Jallow, Chief Executive Officer of JAC, said the project will help health workers to work in a conducive environment and also increase access to health services. 

He added that the health services given to women and children at this health post, upon completion will significantly improve the health status of this vulnerable group.

Modou Jagne, Development Officer of JAC, called on the Contractor to live up to expectation. He further urged the community to enhance the successful completion of the health post, which will benefit many villages in the neighbourhood.

Ebrima Camara and Sons, who is contracted the project, promised to complete the contract on time and commended the council for awarding the contract to him.
