The Banjul Sports Committee, the umbrella body in charge of sports in Banjul as part of the 2007 Nawettan season will award individual players for their achievements during the nawettan season.
The individual awards sponsored by Jollof Tutors will feature the Most Disciplined Team, Most Outstanding Player, Most Promising Young Player, and Leading Goal Scorer. According to a journal produced by the committee, each individual award will benefit from an amount of D1000.
In another development, the Banjul Sports Committee has issued a stern warming to players selected on the Banjul Super Nawettan Team to report immediately stating that failure to report at the appropriate time will result in player suspension from the Banjul Nawettan.
“The end result of organizing and competing in the Nawettan is to have a unified team at the end of the tournament to represent Banjul as a family in the super nawettan”, the journal highlighted.
Team officials were also urged to inform the players selected from their teams to report to training on the selected date, time, and place adding that players must give genuine reasons for not reporting for training, and injured players should report for permission to be granted.
