The staff of the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital in conjunction with the staff of BCC last Saturday embarked on a massive set-settal at the hospital premises in Banjul.
In an interview with reporters, Dr. Mariatou Jallow, Chief Medical Director of RVTH, explained that the aim of the exercise was to keep the hospital clean, noting that it enabled them to clean all the wards and departments in the hospital. She pointed out that as a referral hospital, RVTH should be always kept clean.
Dr. Jallow thanked the BCC for providing support staff during the exercise, saying that the exercise would be an on-going thing.
Dr. Adama Sallah, Chairman of RVTH Management Board, thanked the staff of RVTH for the dedication they’ve exhibited during the exercise, emphasizing that the health of patients is their overriding concern.
He resolved that RVTH would continue to set standards in cleanliness term.
The acting Mayoress of Banjul, Mam Sai Njie-Sanneh, said BCC had adopted a ward at the RVTH, adding that it’s part of BCC’s social responsibility to support the hospital.
