Says Ex-Gamtel Boss’ Counsel
The counsel for the beleaguered ex-Gamtel boss has challenged the Banjul Magistrates’ Court to free his client if the prosecution was not in any position to reply to his earlier submission.
According to counsel Sheriff Tambedou, it was evidently important that his client be acquitted and discharged if the prosecution could not reply to his earlier submission that the court free his client because he had no case to answer. He added that the liberty of his client was at stake and that there was an apparent need for him to know his fate.
Tambedou’s intervention followed the adjournment of his client’s case to November 22 thanks to the absence of the police prosecutor from court.
It would be recalled that Tambedou’s client, Mr. Omar Ndow, has been charged with two counts of abuse of office as well as failure to comply with GPPA regulations for award of contracts.
