More bodies recovered

Three more bodies in the sea disaster that occured behind the State Central Prison, were yesterday, found in a state of decay near the mangroves at the Denton Bridge.

The discovery of the three bodies brings the known death toll to 11. Out of the 20 who were presumed dead, nine are still to be recovered.

One of the three bodies that were taken to the mortuary in  Banjul, was identified by relatives as Musa Fatty, a native of Badibu Salikenni, North Bank Region.

Many, whose loved ones have still not been found stormed the mortuary following the news of the latest discoveries.

Some family members who assembled at the RVTH Mortuary yesterday, disclosed to the Daily Observer that one Foday Bajo from Kiang Bajan and Jarekay Kinteh from Kiang Jifarong in the Lower River Region are believed to be among the 20 would-be illegal migrants who perished in the disaster.

Many of the people who gathered at the mortuary expressed concern that the route to Spain has claimed the lives of many Gambian youth. The public are urged to go to the mortuary to identify the two other bodies.
