The ongoing trial of the US-based Gambian journalist, Fatou Jaw Manneh, is slated to proceed today at the High Court in Banjul.
According to the court’s list of cases, the Fatou Jaw Manneh case is expected to be mentioned today before Justice Yemoa, the Criminal Division Judge.
It could be recalled that the hearing of the case in question commenced at a Magistrates’ Court, before it was recently transferred to the Banjul High Court following a Magistrates’ Court ruling on the grounds of lack of jurisdiction.
Journalist Fatou Jaw Manneh has been standing trial on two count charges of publishing false news with intent to cause alarm or fear in the society and uttering seditious words, charges she vehemently denied.
