Gambia Senior Secondary School Female Team wins Nite Life Tourney

Gambia Senior Secondary School are winners of the Nite Life U-17 female football tournament for schools in Banjul held last Friday at the KG5.

They defeated Muslim Senior Secondary School 2-0, with both goals scored by Veronic Malack, the leading goal scorer of the tournament.

As winners, Gambia Senior Secondary were awarded a giant trophy and a cash prize of D5000, while Muslim went home with D3000. Both teams also received sets of Jerseys.

The tournament, which aims to develop female football at the grassroots level, was divided into two categories – the upper and lower categories.
As the leading goal scorer with ten goals, Veronic Malack received a trophy and a cash prize of one thousand dalasis.

The teams that took part in the upper category are Gambia Senior Secondary School, St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Garba Jahumpa Upper Basic School, JC Faye Memorial Upper Basic School, Muslim Senior Secondary School.

On the other hand, teams in the lower category comprised Campama Lower Basic School, Mohammedan Lower Basic School, St Mary’s, St Joseph Basic Cycle and Wesley Lower Basic School.
