In former Gamtel Boss case Ultimatum for prosecutor

The ongoing criminal case involving Omar Ndow, former managing director of The Gambia Telecommunications Company Ltd (Gamtel), was last Thursday, November 22 adjourned for the last time to November 28, for Magistrate BY Camara to deliver his ruling on the submission made by the defence counsel, Sheriff Tambedou, on a no case to answer submission on behalf of his client, Omar Ndow.

Magistrate BY Camara’s decision followed the absence of ASP Bojang, prosecuting officer of the case on two adjourned dates.

When the case was mentioned last Thursday, Corporal Sanyang announced that he was holding brief for ASP Bojang whom he said, called to say he was on his way to the court.

Magistrate Camara then adjourned the case for the last time saying “I will deliver ruling on the submission even if he is absent”.

It could be recalled that, Sheriff Tambedou, counsel for Omar Ndow made submission of no case to answer on behalf of his client. The prosecution officer is expected to reply to the submission made by the defence counsel.

The case continues today.
