Red Cross to Gather Youths

The Gambia Red Cross Society Banjul Branch is poised to bring together hundreds of youths at the Gambia High School to raise awareness on issues such as illegal migration, violence against youths and volunteerism.

The program, to be held on Saturday December 15th, will involve between 500 and 1500 youths.

According to Alhajie B. Jasseh the event is a platform were young people will discuss issues affecting their lives. The broad theme of the event will be “Together for Humanity”. This, he said, is a common theme running through many issues including violence against women and children, the consequences of illegal migration and volunteerism.

The event will begin with a march from 22nd July Square to the Gambia High School campus. All senior Red Cross members will be in attendance and will have an input. In conclusion Mr Jasseh called on all young people to attend the event and take part in nation building. There will also be entertainment from the Afro Manding Band.
