A forum for the empowerment and development of youths in The Gambia and Africa as a whole began recently at The Gambia High School. The event, which will run until the 17th of January, aims to lay the foundations for a training programme for Gambian students.
The training is being facilitated by Better Africa Youth Initiative (BAYI) and its US partner organisation the Institute of Domestic and International Affairs (IDIA).
Information contained in a statement revealed that, the objectives of the forum are to empower students with leadership skills, public speaking skills, skills development and, most importantly, to update students on health awareness.
According to the statement, after the seminar students will be able to use their God given talents and energy to create environments that cultivate leadership and support positive choices. All these skills will lead to the enhancement of the students self esteem.
