Hearts to Africa, a non-profit organisation based in the UK, will hold an awards ceremony at the Corinth Atlantic Hotel in Banjul on this coming Saturday the 8th of December.
The organisation was set up with the sole purpose of collecting clothes, shoes, books, educational equipment and other useful items, which it then distributes in Africa.
Hearts to Africa has been visiting The Gambia for ten years and has distributed both medical and educational equipment to schools and clinics, mainly in villages.
To mark its ten years in existence and acknowledge their achievements the organisation is holding the award ceremony to reward students in The Gambia school with prizes. Students from 4 to 17 years of age will receive certificates. Also on the agenda for Saturdays event is an Ambassador of Peace award for teachers and Hearts to Africa members.
The non-profit group is using the opportunity, in the run up to the event, to express its appreciation to all of it supporters and urge them to keep up that support.
