The Gambia FA Cup giants, Hawks United, have received their marching out order from the CAF Confederation Cup competition after a 1-0 defeat to Nigeria’s Dolphins in the second leg encounter played in Nigeria on Sunday. Hawks earlier drew goalless with Dolphins in the first leg match in Banjul but the lone goal defeat in Nigeria eliminated the Gambian giants on aggregate 1-0.
Hawks elimination came just two days after Gambia’s representative in CAF Champions’ League-Gambia Ports Authority, crashed out at the expense of another Nigerian sides, Nasarawa United. Ports beat Nasarawa in Banjul fixture before they lost on aggregate 4-2.
Both Gambian clubs put up stunning performance in the start of the continental competitions that berthed them spots in the second round.
However, their second round display arguably fell short of expected, costing them the setback.
