Beakanyang Establishes Kombo Chapter

The Barrow Kunda Beakanyang Kafo, a registered community based organisation (CBO) in the Upper River Region, on Sunday established a new chapter for its members in the Greater Banjul Area.

The occasion, held in Faji Kunda, was well attended by members across the Kombos.

The chapter, known as Beakanyang Kombo chapter, was set up to cordinate the activities of the organisation by its members residing in the Greater Banjul Area.

The executives of the new chapter include Mamadi Barrow, Chairperson, Dutta Touray, Program Coordinator, Alkali Kebbeh, Social Secretary, Lamin Touray Treasurer, Burang Touray, Auditor, and Musa Camara, Adviser.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Nfamara Jawneh, the Secretary General of Beakanyang, advised the chapter executive members to work as a team as they promote the aims and objectives of the organisation.

He encouraged them to work in close collaboration with the main executive of Beakanyang in Barrow Kunda.

Mr Jawneh used the occasion to call on the youth of Barrow Kunda to always participate in activities and ventures geared towards the development of their village.

Mamadi Barrow, Chairperson of the chapter, thanked the members for appointing him and other members as executives of the chapter.

He also called on the membership of the chapter to cooperate with them as they work for the progress of the community and the organisation.

Beakanyang seeks, among other things, to empower the youth, women and children of Barrow Kunda in the areas of health, education and agriculture.
