Four Ecowas member nations, namely The Gambia, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Guinea Conakry will participate in the second edition of Ecowas Cycling Championship, scheduled to take place on Saturday April 14, 2007.
This year’s championship will be spearheaded by the Gambia Cycling Association, in collaboration with the African Tourism Organisation, (ATO).
In an interview with Observer Sports, Mr Momodou Demba, Assistance Coordinator, said twenty cyclists are expected to take part in the race that will cover a distance of 150 km.
According to him, the competition is meant to sensitise and combat the act of human trafficking in the sub-Sarahan Africa.
