Sheikh Sheriff Atkhana Hydara, leader of the foundation of Sheikh Sadibou of Rufisque, Senegal, has ordained four Gambians as Sheikhs at the 5th annual Gamo held in Banjul last Saturday April 14th. The four Gambians include Alhagie Mass Loum of AMRC, Alagie Samba Saye Adviser National Revenue Authority, Ajie Betty Saine of Kotu and Agie Areth Saine of Banjul. The four were ordained in recognition of the remarkable roles they perform towards the promotion of Islamic religion.
The Sheriff, a descendant of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), has the prerogative to ordain people from all sects in Islam including Tijaniya, Qadiriya, Mourid.
