As part of their preparations for the World Youth Championship to be held in Canada this summer, the Gambia National U-20 would host the Ivorian U-23 team in Banjul on Saturday April 28, 2007.
This International friendly match was arranged by the President of The Gambia Football Association, Seedy MB Kinteh during one of his visits in the Ivorian Capital, Abidjan.
In a chat with Point sport Yesterday , Mr. Kinteh revealed that the match would be used as part of preparation of the U-20 for the World Championship but also as a fund raising for the team preparation.
Mr. Kinteh pointed out that the Ivorian team is expected in Banjul on Wednesday April 25, 2007.
GFA Boss also added that the Ivorian team is also preparing for their Olympic qualifiers match coming up in the Weekend of May 4, 5 and 6, 2007.
“The tickets of the game are as follow: Uncovered Pavilion D.25, Covered Pavilion D.50 and VIP D.500,” he revealed.
It could be recalled that Ivory Coast has always accepted to play friendly matches with The Gambia.
On your way to Congo for the African Youth Championship, the Ivorian U-20 played a friendly match against the Gambia U-20. The game ended 2-1 for the Gambia.
