Plymouth/Banjul Challenge Donates to GID

Plymouth/Banjul Challenge, in collaboration with the Association of Small Skills Enterprises in Tourism and the National Sports Committee, on Wednesday donated a brand new land rover vehicle to the Gambia Immigration Department in Banjul, where the presentation ceremony was held.

Presenting the donation to the Immigration, Mr. Modou Ndimballan, one of the team members of Plymouth/Banjul Challenge, commended the Immigration for the invaluable service they are rendering to the Gambian public.

He added that the donation was meant to complement the effort of the Immigration in delivering effective and efficient service to the nation.

In his remarks on the occasion, the Director of Immigration, Alhagie Saho Drammeh, thanked members of Plymouth/Banjul Challenge for the vehicle, saying that the donation was necessitated by the Immigration’s hard work and commitment to service.

He added that the vehicle would be used mainly to facilitate border patrol.
Receiving the donation, the Secretary of State for the Interior, Hon. Ousman Sonko, thanked the donors and described the donation as noble gesture.

Hon. Sonko reiterated his call on the public to always assist and collaborate with the security forces to make The Gambia a crime-free country.
He added that to maintain peace and tranquility in the country, everyone needs to collaborate with the security forces.

He also commended President Jammeh for his able leadership and foresight in wielding the affairs of the country, especially with regard to the security of the nation.
