A book, authored by Mrs. Ralphina Phillot-Almeida, was on 26 July 2007, launched at the National Library in Banjul.

The book contains various literary devices such as poems, stories and proverbs.

According to the various speakers on the occasion, the book, if properly used, will help the reader in improving and broadening his/her scope in literary art.

A lecturer at the University of The Gambia, Mr. Foday Barry, described the work as a literary gem, emphasising the need for Gambians to write books. He also appealed to the government to encourage the culture of writing by giving financial support to those Gambians who wish to write books.

Mr. Barry pointed out the need for the book to be distributed in all the secondary and higher institutions of learning in the country.
