Algeria Arrive in Banjul Friday

The Desert Warriors of Algeria would arrive in Banjul on Friday September 7, 2007 for the crucial Nations Cup qualifier game against the Scorpions of The Gambia on Sunday September 9.

According to the President of The Gambia Football Association (GFA) Seedy MB Kinteh, the Algerian team would land at the Banjul International Airport on Friday via a chartered flight.

Mr Kinteh revealed that the flight would be waiting for the team up to Sunday as the Algerians have decided to leave The Gambia just after the game.

It could be recalled that the Algerian head coach, Jean Michel Cavalli, has called a 22-man squad ahead of the  crucial game in Banjul.

The list includes Fulham striker Hameur Bouazza, who will be marking his return in the national team for the first time since March.

Also called for the vital African Nations qualifier against The Gambia were defender Mehdi Meniri of French Division one side Bastia, German based midfielder of  FSV Mainz, Chadli Amri and striker Boutabout of Sedan in the French league.
