The arrival of the second batch of invited foreign-based players last night has given Gambia full-house camp ahead of Sunday’s highly sensitive Nations Cup qualifier fixture against Algeria in Banjul.
The Danish-based striker, Njogu Demba, Pa Ousman Sonko of Redbull Salzburg, Abdoulie Corr of KPV Kokkola, Pa Saikou Kujabi of Gak Graz, Abdou Jammeh of Textile Telecom, Yankuba Ceesay of Alianza Athletico, Modou Jagne of Cashpoint Altach, Lamin Conateh and Matthew Mendy of Ver Dinger have all arrived last night to join in camp, the Belgian duo, Assan Jatta and Mustapha Jarju, goalkeeper Musa Bajaha, Ousman Koli and Walsall new signing, Edrissa Sonko.
The under 20 duo; Ousman Jallow and Ebrima Sohna, who earn a first-time call-up are expected to arrive today.
Bolstered by the national football governing body, the Scorpions are showing no sign of retreat, knowing that a three-goal victory against the north-African counterparts on Sunday, could see them through to their first-ever Nations Cup finals, provided the current leaders, Guinea slip to visiting Cape Verde in the same weekend.
