IGP Warns Against Removal of Sign Boards

The office of the Inspector General of Police yesterday issued a stern warning to members of the public that anybody found removing, buying or using sign boards along the roads or highways will be severely dealt with according to the laws of The Gambia.

In a press release delivered to this paper yesterday, the IGP’s office said it has come to their notice that some unscrupulous individuals are in the habit of removing sign boards that bear the names of towns and villages erected along high ways and roads throughout the Gambia. Below is the IGP’s statement:

It has come to the notice of the Inspector General of Police that some unscrupulous people use to remove sign boards that bear names of towns and villages erected along Highways and roads through out the Gambia.

Warning is hereby issued that whoever is found removing, buying or suing these metal objects for any other purpose will be severely dealt with according to the Law.

The general public is urged to report anybody found in breath of the above mentioned acts to the nearest police station, security post or barracks.

The co-operation of the General Public is highly solicited.
