GMLA Presents Gifts Sanatorium, RVTH

The Gambia Methodist Laymen’s Association (GMLA) on Tuesday, 18th December 2007 presented Christmas gifts to the patients of the sanatorium and psychiatric units of the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital. The presentation of gifts to the two units at Christmas has been going on for the past twenty-two years.

At the presentation ceremony, the President of the Gambia Methodist Laymen’s Association Mr Ernest Aubee dilated on the significance of Christmas and the need for the association to share its resources with the needy and the sick. Mr Aubee wished the patients a speedy recovery in order for them to join their families. Mr Aubee also on behalf of the GMLA thanked the staff for the good work they were doing and wished both patients and staff a happy Tobaski, Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Prayer were offered by the General Secretary of the GMLA, Mr Henry K. Davies.

The officers in charge of the two units thanked the GMLA for the kind gesture at Christmas and prayed for the continued success of the association and the Methodist Mission.

In attendance at the presentation ceremony were members of the GMLA, RVTH staff and Ms Anne Boocock from the United Kingdom.
