Supreme Court Set to Hear OJ, Hamat Bah Case against State

The Supreme Court of The Gambia is expected to hear the case brought against the state by Omar A. Jallow, alias OJ, and Hamat Bah on February 4th 2008, a notice of hearing from the Supreme Court indicates.

The notice also hinted that the sittings will also hear election petition cases filed by Mr. Dullo Bah of NRP against Honorable Sainey Mbye of Upper Saloum constituency in the Central River Region and the one filed by Mr Kebba Singhateh against Honorable Suku Singhateh of Upper Baddibou constituency. All the cases are to be presided over by the Chief Justice of The Gambia, Abdou Kareem Savage.

According to the notice of hearing by the Supreme Court, all members of the Gambia Bar and the general public desirous of filing appeal or any application to the Supreme Court from any decision of the court of appeal or any other court were being informed that the next sitting of the Supreme Court was scheduled to take place on February 4th 2008. The notice added that those with matters or cases on appeal to the above court are requested to complete all requisite steps on or before 30th January 2008.
