Ultimatum for former Sunu Kerr branch manager

Wednesday, January 9, 2008
The Banjul Magistrates’ Court presided over by Magistrate BY Camara, on Monday, gave a two-week ultimatum to Momodou Yaya Jobe, former Sunu Kerr Banjul branch manager, to call his second witness.

Mr Jobe and Modou Camara were charged with stealing D1.2 million, while working as employees of Sun Kerr, following their indictment by an audit report  at the company, an allegation the accused vehemently denied in court.

However, Mr Jobe, who  had the opportunity to call his first witness, was unable to produce his second witness yesterday.

Cadet Inspector Amadou Keita, noted that the case has suffered a series of set-backs due to the first accused.

Momodou Jobe, however, assured the court that he will be able to produce his witness on the next sitting. Magistrate Camara subsequently adjourned the case to January 21, 2008.
