According to the prosecution, Mr Abdou Dampha, in July 2008, in Banjul, gave a written information to his authorities that there was a political problem in the Lower River Region (LRR), created by the governor, Momodou Soma Jobe, something he knew to be untrue at the time.

At that juncture, the police prosecutor, Inspector Keita, applied for an adjournment to enable him to better prepare to proceed with the case.

The accused person made a bail application, to which Inspector Keita did not object.
Principal Magistrate Mbai granted the accused’s application to the sum of D50,000, with a Gambian surety.
The magistrate then adjourned the matter to September 17 for continuation of the proceedings.
