Monday, September 22, 2008
Tibu Camara, minister of Information and Technology of Guinea Conakry, last Friday, delivered a written message from President Lansana Conteh to President Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, at State House, Banjul.

Speaking to journalists, shortly after his audience with the Gambian leader, Minister Camara said he could not divulge  the whole purpose of his visit, but that their discussion was centered  on, amongst others issues,  the invitation from President Conteh to President Jammeh, to grace the celebration of their 50th National Day, from the 1st to 3rd October, 2008.

He disclosed that President Jammeh  has accepted the invitation, describing the relationship between Banjul and Conakry as ‘special’ under the two presidents who share the same values.

This relationship, he went on, is a crystal clear example of greater cooperation between two states in the same sub-region.
