5 burnt at CRR

Reports reaching the Daily Observer have disclosed that five children aged 13 years old, who were learning the Qur’an under the tutelege of one Gibel Jeng were seriously injured by an inferno, which caught up their house last Sunday.

The victims Njobe Faal, Modou Ndow, Ifra Kah, Mansour Ndow and Wuyeh Nget were seriously burnt at Jamally Babou village, Central River Region, after a fire virtually consumed the whole of their house.

Confirming this to the Daily Observer, Papa Jeng, a brother to the children said the incident occured in Gibel Jeng’s compound, the marabout under whose care they were learning the Quran.

According to Papa Jeng, the incident happened when the children lit a firewood in their house in order to beat down the cold, forgetting to put it off before they went to bed, which later consumed the whole house into ashes.

While the victims are currently being admitted at the Bansang Hospital, Papa Jeng appealed to the government and the public general to come to their assistance as the fire has done them incalculable damages. Anybody willing to help could simply phone 9718089.
