Over one thousand people in the Central River Region, on Wednesday September 12, converged at President Jammeh’s rice farm in Barajally to help in the first weeding.

The rice farm is sixteen hectares situated at Barajally village in the Niani District. The people were led by the Governor of the Region, Ganjie Touray, District Chief, Pierre Bah, and Regional Agricultural Co-ordinator of CRR north.

Governor Touray commended the community for responding positively to weed in President Jammeh’s farm. He further said “all this is due to love and loyalty they have for President Jammeh, particularly the women folk”.  He hailed the efforts of rural women that are engaged in agricultural production, noting that as agriculturist, they produce the bulk of the food for consumption.

The Governor for North Bank Region, Edwarr Seckan, encouraged the youth to take up farming seriously as it is the backbone of the country economy. He urged them to strengthen their unflinching support for President Jammeh for the benefit of all and sundry.
