UDP/NRP/GPDP Supporter’s Trial Drags on

Tuesday, November 28, 2006
The trial of the UDP/NRP/GPDP supporter, Mr. Foday Bah, is still dragging on at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

On Thursday, 23rd November 2006, the case resumed before magistrate Edrissa Mbai but could not proceed because the police prosecutor, 1st Class 413 Sanyang, who held brief for ASP Badjie, again told the court that Mr. Foday Bah’s file was still at the Attorney-General’s chamber and is yet to be handed over to the prosecution department. He argued that as the case could not proceed in the circumstances, he saw it fit to apply for adjournment. The application was accordingly granted and the case was adjourned to December.

The accused person, Mr. Foday Bah, who later spoke to this reporter, expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in settling his case, saying that since the date of mention, the case did not progress and has suffered a lot of set-backs. He added that he even wants to travel to Guinea-Bissau for his business transaction but could not due to the pending case against him.
