Magistrate Mbye Warns Parents

In the matter between a son, Muhammed Kijera, and his parents at the Brikama Magistrates’ court, presiding magistrate Edrisa Mbai has sent a stern warning to all parents that they have no license to subject their young ones to constant harassment and humiliation.

Muhammed Kijera a defendant, was dragged to court by his parents for threatening violence against them (parents), a matter that the police prosecution could not prove beyond all reasonable doubt.

In his ruling, senior magistrate Mbai said that being a parent does not give one the license to maltreat or bully one’s children at will.
