Magistrate John Njie of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court has slammed court fines and sentences on one Famara Darboe following his culpability of stealing various items from a dwelling house.
Famara had pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a transistor, cassette player, generator, corrugated iron-sheet and a television set.
The items, worth over D30,000, were the properties of one Mariama Ceesay of Farato village in Kombo South.
In his judgement, magistrate Njie convicted and sentenced Famara to serve twelve months in jail for felony and another twelve months for stealing. Both sentences are to run concurrently.
Meanwhile, the jail terms would be served if Famara defaults in paying D5000 court fine for both offences.
