The Brikama Magistrates’ Court will sometime next week kick-start trial proceedings in the case of a Brikama resident on infanticide charges.

Amie Jambang appeared before Magistrate Edrisa Mbai on Thursday of last week and was formally charged with willfully and unlawfully causing the death of her newly-born baby.

She pleaded not guilty to the charge and will return to the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on 7 November 2007.
