Gambia U-20 get new team manager

Lamin King Colley, Chairman and President of Western Region Sports Committee and Brikama Youth and Sports Association respectively has been nominated to serve as the new manager for the Gambia U-20 team, reports reaching Observer Sports desk has revealed.

Inspector Colley, a Police Officer-cum-sports administrator, replaces Mr Malick Sillah, who has been posted to The Gambia’s consulate offices in Morocco.

In his new position, Colley will be mandated to implement all directives from the President regarding the welfare of the national U-20 team. He will also serve as an advance party to finalise appropriate arrangement in a host country where the team has a match or tournament to play. Colley’s other task as team manager, will be arrangement of travelling and reception of the team and all other logistic as may be deemed necessary.

Colley said his nomination came to him as a big surprise, but expressed delight for being given the chance to serve in such a vital position.

King Colley has been a real force to be reckoned with in the area of sports development in Western Region and beyond.

His fondly name-‘King Colley’ is now a household name in Western region-one of the most populated regions in the country, thanks to his unflinching commitment and dedication to the development of sports in the area.
