As part of preparations for the World Youth Championship to be hosted in Canada in June-July 2007, The Gambia U-20 team played a well anticipated match at the Brikama Mini Stadium with thousands of spectators to either cheer up their community boys, or still the darling national U-20 team.

The game which showcased the appearance of all the new players opened its score sheet with Buba Jammeh of Armed Forces and followed by Sanna Nyassi in the second half of the game.

A well-organised Brikama selection had a penalty which they managed to score to put the score line 2 goals to 1. Haji Tunkara of GPA increased the lead to three goals for the darling boys, and Paul Jatta alias ‘Apapa’ of Hawks FC put in the fourth goal for the U-20 team. The match ended 4-1 in favour of the U-20 team.

All the players of the U-20 team were given the chance to play as most of the key players played in the second half, with the exception of Ousman Jallow, Momodou Ceesay, Ebrima Sohna, Tijan Jaiteh, Pa Modou Jagne, Ken Malamin Jatta, Joseph Gomez and Demba Savage, who all missed the test match due to club engagements, trials or injury.
